Photo of Mitch Daniels

Currently president of Purdue University, Mitch Daniels has had an extraordinary career in politics, business, and education. From 2005-13, Mitch Daniels was governor of Indiana, where he enacted an ambitious program of reform.  From 2001-03, Daniels served as director of the Office of Management and Budget, and before that directed the Indiana-based Eli Lilly and Company.

Throughout his career, Daniels has been a remarkable advocate for the view of government he proposes in his conversation with Bill Kristol: limited, but effective within its proper sphere.
